You opened hearts, you opened doors.

You turned your loss to lasting gain.

Your breath—once tested, scarred, and strained—
Now fills the world with what you gained:

A pioneer who changed the frame.
Not just survivor, but a guide—
A flame for justice, burning wide.
In 2006, Bonnie founded the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF)—to advance research, early detection, patient education, and to challenge the stigma surrounding lung cancer
In 2008, she co-founded the Addario Lung Cancer Medical Institute (ALCMI) with her husband, Tony Addario.
In 2019, the ALCF merged with the Lung Cancer Alliance to form the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer, becoming the largest patient-focused lung cancer advocacy organization in the
U.S., where Bonnie served as board chair
