What is Children's Environmental Health Day?
Children's environmental health is about making sure that the places where kids live, play, worship, and go to school are safe and healthy. This means protecting them from things in the environment that can harm their health. Kid's health is impacted by their physical and built environments (like schools and parks), their biological environment (like viruses and bacteria), and chemical environments (like PFAS in personal products).
Better children's environmental health means cleaner air, cleaner
water, safer food, adapting to and mitigating climate change, building
a toxic-free and non-extractive economy, and ensuring that these positive changes are equitable by righting historical and current environmental injustices.
