“ Kids are more likely to get sick because of their developing bodies. They’ re 20 times more likely to get lung cancer when exposed to radon and smoke,” Devlin said.
Schwartz confirmed researchers are beginning to broaden their examination of radon in connection with several other diseases, including strokes, leukemia and malignant melanoma.
