We welcome our newest Premier Youth Ambassadors for Radon Reduction (PYA) 2023 members. Industry leaders, health care, education and nonprofits are encouraged to stand with PYA students and program leaders to make the future of radon awareness and opportunities a reality for all young people.
Ketura Murthy is a senior at the STEM charter school Beehive Science and Technology Academy. She was awarded the Best
of State Student for K-12 in Utah in the 2022, won the Congressional gold, silver, and bronze medals and certificates from congress, and was the youngest ever in her school to earn the Congressional Award at 15. She also was the youngest to begin the program in 8th grade. She is the President of the National Honor Society and Student Council and Student Board Member for SheTech which is a program for high school girls to encourage more exploration into STEM careers. Ketura has a 4.6 GPA and is taking college courses at a community college.
Ketura's goal is to spread awareness about radon to my fellow youth. I want to speak at schools to elementary and middle schoolers. If I get a chance if I could be given some materials to give out to high schoolers, middle schoolers, and elementary kids to bring home to their parents to test their homes for radon that would be great!
