We can’t let this mastery of science and experience disappear.
As we travel through life’s journey, in this case—the radon reduction advocacy journey—we recognize the need to pass on what we have learned and relinquish and share our knowledge and passion to others. For nearly eighteen years, I have been an advocate for radioactive radon awareness, testing and reduction. During this time, the individuals I have met in the radon, environmental and health fields have always impressed me with their commitment and knowledge. These people possess a gold mind of knowledge and experience.
We can’t let this mastery of science and experience disappear. Becoming a mentor to younger people will be what elevates and sustains our purpose and mission of continuing to save lives from radioactive radon gas exposure.
I encourage you to participate as a mentor in the Premier Youth Ambassador for Radon Reduction. There are several methods of mentorship—one on one, reverse mentorship--learning from each other, group mentorship--giving guidance to several at a time, and mentoring circles—both mentor and mentees with one facilitator. Having been a teacher for 34 years, I know how much we can learn from our students. Who among us hasn’t benefitted from the friendship, guidance and knowledge of those who have gone before us.
