The annual Above + Beyond Celebrate! Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 16, at the Downtown Des Moines Hilton Hotel, is an annual event that serves as a key funder for the organization’s Optimal Living Programs.

The tradition that is carried out at each luncheon is to honor people, foundations, organizations, and corporations which have done extraordinary things in the world of cancer. Attedees were provided with an update on all of the activities associated with Above + Beyond Cancer along with an announcement of Above + Beyond Cancer’s next Transformational Journey.

The Celebrate! Luncheon gave everyone a chance to gather together to celebrate the amazing and positive impact Above + Beyond Cancer has made in the cancer community.

One of the ways the organization makes the biggest impact on cancer survivors and caregivers is through their Optimal Living Program, which is supported through the Celebrate! Luncheon. More than six years ago, Above + Beyond Cancer established our Optimal Living Program, which is a set of weekly, evidence-based MIND | BODY | SPIRIT fitness and wellness programs for cancer survivors and caregivers. Initially, there was one program called Total Training, a 12-week program involving cardio work, weight training, Yoga and Meditation, it was designed to help bring cancer survivors back to their full strength (or maybe make them even stronger) after or during their treatment period.

The number of weekly MIND | BODY | SPIRIT programs has continued to grow, adding the Cancer Education Series, Indoor Cycling with Dr. Deming, Meditation, Yoga, Cooking + Nutrition, Bike Club, Book Club, Urban Poling, Tai Chi, Aqua sessions, and Hike/Yoga.
