Crystal Lytle is Fantech’s Radon Sales Manager and is actively involved in radon awareness and testing and mitigation efforts. She is currently the Immediate Past President the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST) and has served at the AARST Symposium chairperson and various other committees over her years on the board. Lytle is a member of Cancer Survivors Against Radon (CanSAR) and is also a founding member of the Women Against Radon campaign and CR3. As a Colorado resident, Lytle also spearheads efforts to advance radon-related regulations in the state.
Last but certainly not least, I would like to acknowledge, congratulate, and express my appreciation for Jacquelyn Nixon, the publisher of our magazine. Jackie, has never, never stopped educating people and spreading the message of the danger of radioactive radon gas exposure. Jackie begins her fifth year of CR3 Radon News with this issue. She has rallied the lung cancer community in Pennsylvania into a great movement of radon awareness. Jackie was determined to make a difference when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Being a never smoker, she sought out what was the likely cause of this demon in her body. Using her money, she got condominium owners in her complex to test for radon which resulted in mitigation of her building. She has spoken at numerous events, hosted booths, visited legislators and during this pandemic participated in hundreds of conference calls and zoom meetings.
Jackie created the Pennsylvania Radon Calendar using the drawings from the children who were winners of the PA radon poster contest and also created a National Radon Calendar using the national winners’ drawings. Jackie is an inspiration to all of us! When some of us thought nothing could be done during this pandemic, Jackie proved us wrong. We at Citizens for Radioactive Radon Reduction say thank you for your tireless advocacy and action to make a difference and save lives.
