RADON
42
The only reason I found out about my lung cancer was because I got shingles and my PCP asked me if I had any other complaints. I complained that I could not hold the notes on the same song that I was able to sing six months ago. I had no symptoms and a chest x-ray was ordered just to make sure. A tumor was found and I my upper left lung was removed. I never smoked.
I did not find out about the radon until seven months after my lung surgery! The medical profession should ask the patient if they have ever tested for radon. Once a test is done, the radon report should go to your doctor for further followup if the results are high.
