A Message from City Councillor Marvin Rotrand
Congratulations to Canadian Pinoy Radio Montreal on its 5th Anniversary
Dear Friends,
CPRM, the voice of Filipino Montreal, will this month proudly celebrate its 5th anniversary of
serving the community. The station has, once again, had a very successful year serving Filipinos
in our city while sharing the vibrancy of Montreal’s Filipino community with the world.
CPRM provides its listeners with high quality entertainment reflecting the rich and varied culture of
the Philippines coupled with in-depth news reporting. CPRM broadcasts in Tagalog, Cebuano,
Ilocano and English, thus meeting the needs of listeners from all the different regions of the
Philippines. The station’s diverse playlist appeals to those who seek traditional Filipino music as
well as those looking for more modern renditions.
As I have observed in past years, Côte-des-Neiges ─ Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Borough is the
epicentre of the Filipino community in Quebec. Our Borough Council deals with issues vital to
Filipino organizations throughout the city. CPRM's reporting of Council as well as on the important
debates at City Hall gives its audience insight to new policies and bylaws that affect the well being
of all Montrealers. The station can take pride in its extensive coverage of municipal issues
including last November's election which provided Filipino voters the information they needed to
make an informed choice at the ballot box
I look forward on this milestone anniversary to continue working with CPRM's dedicated team that
so reliably covers community news. In the months to come, I will be raising many issues important
to the Filipino community and CPRM will be a vital portal to inform the community of what is being
discussed.
CPRM has established itself as a key institution serving Filipinos in Montreal and abroad, linking
the Philippines with the Filipino diaspora in our city. Whether it is for hard news, community affairs
or entertainment, listeners tune in to CPRM. I look forward to CPRM’s continued growth in
2018 and much appreciate the team's dedication and professionalism.
Yours truly,
Marvin Rotrand
