Laser Infrastructure And Technology Solutions ( Lites ) Renewable Energy Engineer Scoops Energy Manager Of The Year Award
Anderikus Sungu , a Renewable Energy Engineer at Laser Infrastructure and Technology Solutions ( LITES ), has won the Association of Energy Engineers ’ ( AEE ) ‘ Energy Manager of the Year Award ’ in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in promoting the practices , principles and procedures of energy engineering and dedication to Kenya ’ s energy efficiency and renewable energy industry . Founded in 1977 , the AEE is a nonprofit professional Association with over
projects . This has reduced energy consumption by over 20 %. Additionally , he has led the CPF Group ’ s energy audits for various facilities and developed a robust energy management policy and plan for the organization .

Sungu , who has a passion for environmentally sustainable projects , has been recognized for his contribution towards the adoption of clean renewable energy technology for improvement of business processes in the region . His expertise lies implementation of energy efficiencies practices with an aim of identifying energy saving opportunities and pursuing implementation to realize actual energy savings
As a Renewable Energy Engineer , Sungu has executed plans that have seen the CPF Group , and its owned properties , significantly reduce energy consumption through the installation of 52KW system at CPF House , 36KW system at Pension Towers , 100KW at Freedom Height , 40KW at Travel house as well as the implementation of various energy efficiency and conservation
A certified Energy Manager – registered by the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority ( EPRA ) - Sungu has led LITES ’ Energy department in the provision of Renewable Energy solutions , ranging from simple off grid with integrated energy storage systems to turnkey grid tied solar projects . This includes designing , developing , and installation high-quality solution , supplying affordable products and services to the public , commercial , and domestic markets throughout East Africa . One of his successfully completed projects includes the Kenya Power Last Mile Connectivity Project , funded by the Africa Development Bank ( AFDB ) to connect 12,300 customers in Kilifi , Garrisa Tana River and Lamu counties .

The award ceremony will take place during this year ’ s AEE World Energy Conference slated for the 20 th to 22 nd October 2021 in New Orleans , USA .
