Offices for CPA candidates with the
goal that the YMCA will become a
Pre-Approved Training Office not just
provincially, but also nationally. “The
CPA Pre-Approved Program is a natural
fit for both organizations,” says Kathryn
Ross, CPA, CA, CFO of YMCA Canada.
“By participating in the CPA training
program, the YMCA gets access to
quality CPA candidates and, in return,
offers them opportunities to learn
about finance operations for the notfor-profit organization and charitable
sector.”
In turn, the YMCA will benefit from

and current, highly relevant training
of CPA candidates. “The CPA program’s
mentorship requirement is also
valuable for the supervisory staff in
the YMCA’s core finance team, helping
