Mining in British Columbia
British Columbia’s mining and exploration industry is one of the most
robust in the country. With hundreds of mining and exploration
companies based in British Columbia, mining is an important facet
of the province’s economy. Despite the high concentration of mining
companies, these are difficult times for BC’s mining sector. This issue
of CPABC Industry Update will profile the mining industry, its current
state, the challenges it faces, the support it receives, its future, and

are currently working to unite under the CPA
designation, CPABC Industry Update is their
online magazine for members, candidates,
and students working in industry.
This issue also includes news about the CPABC Fall Leadership
Conference taking place in Victoria on September 17 to 19. The
Conference will feature keynote speakers CPA Canada President and
CEO Kevin Dancey, FCPA, FCA, and Twitter Canada’s Kristine Stewart as
well as many engaging professional development workshops.
