CPA Report on Giving 2016-17 CPA Report on Giving 2016-17 | Page 3

MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear CPA Community, The transformational process at CPA begins with cultivating a life-giving atmosphere. This atmosphere is the cornerstone for the organizational culture that helps make our ministry effective and gives students an environment in which to thrive. Key elements within this atmosphere are pursuant love, authentic relationships, and reciprocal trust. In regards to our broader community, essential elements for a vibrant and flourishing culture are trust, gratitude, and stewardship. Tuition allocations, annual and bequeathed gifts, volunteerism, and prayer are vital to the advancement and sustainability of CPA. Your willingness to continue your investment reveals a level of trust that is truly sacred to us. The annual CPA Report on Giving is a step towards all of you as a reinforcement of your trust and an expression of gratitude to everyone who has invested in the mission and ministry of our school. In addition, with this report we seek to provide transparent evidence of the stewardship of your investment. Recently, many of you read both our CPA Strategic Plan (a look forward) and Purple & Gold (a look backward). These publications communicate the tangible examples of the beliefs, mission, and philosophies foundational to our school. Another true litmus test of foundational beliefs is organizational practice. 2016-17 CPA is committed to ensuring our philosophy informs our practice, and this can be seen by how we acknowledge and thank our investors. As you read this report, you will notice we do not indicate levels of giving — names are listed alphabetically. This practice is unique in the independent school culture and receives occasional question if the omission is a potential impediment to our development efforts; however, our desire is to honor and thank each individual investment, without rank or hierarchy. We offer gratitude to all without comparison. So thank you, whether you gave one dollar or one million dollars, whether you volunteered one hour or one hundred hours, whether you prayed driving to school, or in a focused gathering — every investment matters in an education that prepares students to influence the future of our contemporary world as salt and light for the Kingdom of God. We treasure your trust, we are committed to transparent stewardship, and we are filled with gratitude for you. Thank you. Nathaniel H. Morrow Head of School 2016-17 REPORT ON GIVING | 3
