JAY BAKER’ 13
Jay is an Assistant Vice President at Tranquility Partners, a multi-family office in Brentwood. Not only is Jay a CPA Alumni, but he is also now a CPA Dad!
Following CPA graduation, Jay headed to Rhodes College where he majored in Business & Economics. He also ran collegiate Track & Field. Following Rhodes, Jay started working in investment banking with a focus in mergers and acquisitions. His move back to Nashville carried plenty of transitions – getting married and starting a family with his wife Madison, and shifting into a venture capital firm looking for the drive and expertise he had to offer.
Jay attributes his time at CPA to helping him through these times of growth and transition during his early career. Both his schooling at CPA and his training as an athlete taught Jay the merit of hard work and diligence. Jay also shares,“ CPA prepared me for being a good husband and showed me the importance of how to live life within a Biblical community.”
Jay has now joined his father and brother( Jordan Baker‘ 15) at Tranquility Partners where he works with families managing their investments. He states that this current venture is the“ perfect culmination of everything he has done so far.” He is able to merge a Biblical worldview with finance and his heart for helping families build their futures.
Jay’ s advice to the current CPA students would be first to prioritize your relationship with the Lord. He is the only thing that is consistent in life. Second, is to seek wise counsel. Pairing your own walk of faith with the guidance and community of well-rooted mentors is solid anchoring for any future in any field. Jay recently became CPA Alumni Board Chair and serves as a non-voting member of the CPA Board of Trustees.

Morgan Atkinson Jones’ 14 and husband Tyler welcomed daughter Riley Marie Jones in September 2024. She is a Data Administrator for William Morris Endeavor and they live in Lebanon, TN.
Rebekah McKerley Etyang’ 14 lives in Jinja, Uganda with husband John and children Eden and Eli. She is the Executive Director of Heal Ministries.
Jessie Omer Oswald’ 14 married Brayden Oswald in October 2024. They live in Nashville.
