AITHFUL FOUNDATIONS

Dear CPA Community ,
HEAD OF SCHOOL ADDRESS
When I look back over the 2023-24 school year , I am filled with gratitude for a year well-lived and well-forged , full of growth and learning : faithful . Faithful to our mission and faithful to our students . My words of encouragement to the 126 families of graduating seniors in the Class of 2024 emphasized the pursuit of faithfulness over the exhaustive chase of success — an illusive “ white whale ” of evershifting standards that our world doles out lavishly and rips away vehemently . Success will tempt us to glance to our left and right , comparing ourselves by others ’ standards . I don ’ t care much about our school chasing success , but I do , along with our 250 + faculty and staff , give my life ’ s work to the pursuit of faithfulness at CPA .
As Christian educators , we commit ourselves to excellent instruction with a heart-forward approach . When students feel safe , known , and loved , they branch out , fail forward , ask difficult questions , and over time , the hope of the gospel becomes their own hope . Our joy is in seeing students walk with Jesus , seeking His ways above their own , and in that posture , discover their unique design and divine purpose — all to bring about Kingdom restoration in a broken world . Hear me when I say … we will be flawed in this endeavor , but relentless in our striving .
In this magazine , you ’ ll read stories of this beautiful , courageous , imperfect striving — the foundation of faith bringing our Academy to life .
Faithfulness looks like a Spiritual Life team integrating Biblical worldview from the youngest preschool students to the graduating seniors — the backbone of our ministry via curriculum , faculty instruction , and relationship with students . Faithfulness looks like 230 students in The Institute for Cultural Engagement ( TICE ) this year — exploring innovative solutions to problems that need solving . Faithfulness looks like students working for new skills in athletics , the arts , the classroom , through service projects and internships , guided by a faculty who know them and challenge them . Faithfulness looks like retiring educators and staff who have poured into CPA for 25 + years , leaving a school community of many growing seasons far better than they found it . Faithfulness looks like founding matriarchs of the Academy , with second generation CPA grandchildren , regularly walking campus as they blanket the school in prayer — these women are pillars of faith and strength . CPA would not be what it is today without them .
Thank YOU , parents , students , alumni , faculty , and staff for your own faithful contributions to the CPA community — a theme in this year ’ s story . Thank you !
Soli Deo Gloria ,
