The Story of the Proscenium Symbols that echo “ Soli Deo ... God Alone ”
Designed by Matt Logan ’ 95
The center medallion is an image of a tree … the tree of life from Revelation 22:2 … a tree whose leaves are for the healing of the nations . The Proscenium is embedded with symbols harkening to our story of relationship with our Creator . We believe that our graduates can go forth into the culture and be mediators and advocates for healing of all kinds . Also within the design are two doves which represent the ones that brought the olive branch to Noah … signs of life ! Those doves are also a representation of the Holy Spirit that descended on Jesus when John the Baptist baptized Him . Two stars shine as beacons on either side of the tree representing God ’ s goodness and truth shining in the darkness . And , there is a pattern of wheat within the border of the design reminding us Jesus is the bread of life offered for all mankind . The interlocking design of the border represents the blessing of community . Symbols are a way God has spoken to us over and over again in Scripture ; they have taught our hearts to recognize Him . And so , the proscenium serves as a symbolic reminder as well — a way to recognize , honor , and remember our God who heals , delivers , provides , and loves .
