n Now that work has been completed on the Cowes Breakwater and the Eastern Channel, giving rise to a
more protected and sheltered harbour, CHC can focus on the improvement of harbour access, facilities and
services. These include the review and provision of short stay moorings and slipway access for small craft
in both East Cowes and Cowes. This is now included as a specific new objective within Port & Harbour
Development on page 11 of the Plan. CHC will review various project ideas, including extending Trinity
Landing, reviewing options for Town Quay, and the need for a safe and accessible slipway in East Cowes.
The commercial and economic environment requires CHC to keep under close review the best use of its
various marine assets, including both the Commission’s Kingston Wharf site and CHC’s Cowes Harbour
Shepards Marina.
As always, the Commission encourages all stakeholders to participate in CHC’s consultation processes.
