OBJECTIVES Target Date 2.1 Port Master Plan/Strategic Planning: Engage with the Isle of Wight Council and 2018 partners where appropriate in the strategic planning for Cowes Harbour and the 2019-2021 Medina Valley to future-proof the port’s infrastructure, marine services, and employment. 2.2 Sustainable dredging management plan: Consult, develop and deliver a new 2016-2017 cost-effective Medina Estuary Sustainable Maintenance Dredging Management Plan 2021 in partnership with stakeholders. 2.3 Shrape Breakwater: Carry out a condition survey and allow for remedial repair costs in CHC’s rolling 5 year Financial Capital and Maintenance Budget Plan. 2016 2.4 Eastern Channel and Shrape Breakwater extension: Work with the government’s 2017 Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and their preferred development partner to complete the construction and delivery. 2.5 Inner Harbour moorings review: Review and reallocate Inner Harbour moorings 2016-2017 to accommodate construction of proposed HCA-led Victoria Marina, prioritising day class yachts for the Inner Harbour and the reallocation of cruiser class yachts to alternative river moorings. 2.6 Future-proof main navigation channel: Obtain consents and deliver improvements 2017-2018 in depth and width of the channel. 2.7 Floating bridge: Promote the requirement to increase navigation access and the importance of safety management issues in the delivery of the Isle of Wight Council’s new floating bridge. 2.8 Harbour Access: Review, consult and pursue options for improving short-stay mooring and slipway access for RIBs, dinghies and other small craft in East Cowes and Cowes. 2017 2019-2021 2019-2020 STRATEGIC PLAN 2016-2021: Mid-Term Review 2019 11
