Friends of The Cowal Highland Gathering
Several leading consumer brands and attractions have realised their marketing objectives through involvement and association with the Cowal Highland Gathering while enhancing
the range and quality of attractions for our visitors. These include:
2014 marks the second year of close working with the Daily Record, one of Scotland’s foremost media brands.
With a reach of 747,000 readers of the print version alone, the Daily Record is a much valued friend of the Cowal Highland
Gathering.
The Daily Record contributes to the Cowal Highland Gathering through pre-event publicity
and promotion (print, online and social media) and also through the provision of key entertainment attractions –
including popular children’s entertainment.
The Glasgow Science Centre once again returns to The Cowal Highland Gathering to enthral and entertain visitors.
Drawing 270,000 visitors annually, the Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland’s most popular attractions and has been
awarded a five star rating by Visit Scotland. That popularity has been brought to the Cowal Highland Gathering, with the centre
providing fun experiences for all the family.
This year the Glasgow Science Centre will bring a 3D experience to the Cowal Highland Gathering. In an onsite ‘pop-up’ 3D cinema,
visitors to the Gathering will be able to enjoy a bespoke 3D movie, based on the Centre’s popular ‘Bodyworks’ exhibition encompassing fun and fascinating themes such as ‘Disgusting Digestion’ and ‘Get Active’. This 3D attraction will be augmented
through the provision of ‘hands-on’ workshops offered by Centre staff.
Earlier this year, the Cowal Highland Gathering were delighted and honoured to announce the Children’s Hospice
Association Scotland (CHAS) as the Gathering’s first official charity.
CHAS is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have lifeshortening conditions for which there is no known cure. CHAS runs two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and
Robin House in Balloch, and a home care service called CHAS at Home.
The Gathering will invite spectators to make a donation to CHAS when purchasing tickets and on site during the games.
CHAS will also have a dedicated area in the stadium to share information with the Gathering’s audience. The Gathering will also harness its significant Social Media
presence to further publicise the work of our partner charity.
