With our world being turned upside down by the Covid-19 pandemic our strategy sessions became more creative . Guided by the irrepressible Robby Riccardi , a core group of wild and crazy personalities ( read ‘ everyday heroes ’) got together to create something new . Most of the group are part of the Apocalypse Cows who are famous for pushing more ‘ behinds ’ to 947 glory than any other charity . During this time the saying ‘ adapt or die ’ has never been more relevant and even more so to charities who rely on fundraising to fulfil their obligations . And so in 2020 the Cow and Belle was launched . With strict Covid-19 protocols in place and pages of rules for the judges to ensure adherence , the ride took place on 14 November 2020 with teams in every colour of the rainbow riding in Joburg , KZN and Dubai . The event raised more than R1,2 million and created unforgettable memories for the riders as well as changing more lives than we will ever know .
So now 13 years into our journey we have raised more than R44 million for CHOC and our herd has become our family . I still find it hard to describe the magic of The Cows , it is an experience , a feeling … although the best I can offer is our motto which we live by and we invite you to join us on this next adventure , come along … it will change your life !.
