Reflections on the Blue Cows team
The blue cows team are part of The Cows , trying our best to raise funds for , and awareness of , CHOC while enjoying miles of smiles , good food , beers and great company .
Each year we start the campaign with the intention of giving back out of gratitude and get so much back in return , from each other , our supporters , The Cows and being part of this brilliant cause . We are honoured to have a seat with the amazing people on the CHOC Northern Region Committee .
The blue cows started with Pretoria based friends riding on Sunday mornings to get saddle fit for the 947 Cow stampede and has developed from there .
Despite best attempts we have not been any good at growing our numbers by much and we stand in awe of the Cows and the AC team on this front .
We ride together , all for pure pleasure .
Those with the need for speed ride ahead and circle back to pick up the group , allowing everyone to get their ride in . On race day you do what you do to cross the line in your own style . We celebrate each other ’ s personal achievements . Each team member has many to be proud of . Over the last decade , lifelong friendships have developed in our diverse group and every team member plays an important role in all our lives .
We are humbled by the courage and spirit of the kids and families afflicted by oncology related illnesses and those in the organisation who live in service to help CHOC kids and families move forward with dignity and hope .
Thank you Cow Committee for providing us with the platform that has enhanced all our lives .
