From inception through we have been afforded the support and backing of ABSA corporate and investment banking through this initiative. This support has been a pillar of strength to grow and guide the foundation with a firm respected corporate backing. Through our business networks and relationships ,we network with other businesses and corporates to provided sponsorships and support to the cause. The power of businesses behind the upliftment of communities is priceless and helps create and grow the awareness of a situation that needs our country’s attention. 4. What projects have you engaged in since inception and how successful have you been in meeting these objectives. • Our focus prior to the inception of the foundation was driven by the CEO, CFO and CPO (all women) to focus on the aged people that live in homes and rely on hand-outs and donations to survive. We identified once such home in the Alexandra Township just three kilometres from our office where we targeted our assistance and support.  It was not long after we started working in the area, that we identified a number of schools in the area where children attending school did not have as much as a school bag or a bottle for water.  As on on-going initiative, we provide the home for the aged in Alexandra with food and basic necessities to help the aged and the volunteers that work at this home.  We provided all the children in two schools in Alexandra with colourful canvas bags and high quality moulded plastic water bottles to use at school on a daily basis.  This is an on-going objective of the team at The Grey Foundation  Our sanitary pad program is driven towards obtaining the attention at support of individuals and businesses. The enormity of the situation spans hundreds of schools around our country and affects over a 100 000 school girls. In order to provide a consistent supply to these young school girls, it requires a village of support and our goal is to obtain that “village” to help make each month a comforting one for these learners. 43
