TRAVEL_________________________________________________________________________________ Winter in Kashmir By Hawa Patel @ traveldiarieswithH From the bustling streets of Mumbai into the Old City of Delhi - to the scenic Taj Mahal in Agra, India captures the imagination beyond belief. The diversity of landscape and culture is especially pronounced in the North. The trip to the North is incomplete without taking the domestic flight to Kashmir. Kashmir is the northernmost region of the Indian subcontinent . The brightly painted shikar (waterboats) gliding along the waterways between the Dal Lake, Nagin Lake and the river Jhelum, passing formal Mughal gardens, villages and island – is simply picturesque. During the winter, Kashmir has a mystical beauty. In summer the breathtaking gardens from the Mughal Gardens, Shalimar, Nishat and Chashm-e- Shahi blossom like a tapestry of intricate colours. \ 16
