Hair Tips - Hijabella A trip to a hair salon is something every lady always looks forward to, from the relaxing wash and massage at the basin, to walking out of the salon feeling brand new. However, if you’ve missed a few appointments, your hair tends to start looking dull. While it’s every girls dream to have long luscious locks of hair all the time, hormonal changes , weather changes and various lifestyle changes has an impact on the health of our hair. Here are some great tips to keep your hair healthy and happy in between those salon visits: • First of all, It's normal to lose 100 to 150 strands of hair a day so don't panic when you see a small bunch crawling across your tiled floor. It’s just your hair cycle going through it’s phases. • After washing your hair, comb wet hair with extreme care because when wet , hair is fragile and prone to breakage. Rather use a broad toothed comb or a tangle teaser and run it from the roots to the ends of your hair as gently as possible. • Regular trimming every four to six weeks is also important, just enough to keep split ends at bay and by regularly trimming , it adds movement to the hair, resulting in healthy hair with easier styling and manageability. • Don't wash your hair everyday and whenever you do, apply conditioner on the ends and not to the roots. This will ensure your roots don’t become oily while your mid lengths and ends stay nourished. 36 • Rinse conditioner off with cooler water as it is good for strength and shine. Also try and do a deep conditioning every once in a while. You can do this by washing your hair with shampoo, squeeze out the extra water and towel dry it. Then take generous amounts of conditioner and apply it to your hair. Use a broad toothed comb and comb through your hair to make sure the conditioner reaches everywhere. Then clip it up and wrap in a warm towel. Leave the conditioner in for anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour. Rinse thoroughly and enjoy silky smooth hair. • Shampoos? - I’m sure you’ve heard the word “sulphate free” . Well , what are sulphates? They're the reason your shampoo lathers the way it does. They clean your scalp and hair, removing the dirt from it. But some researches also say that they strip your hair of essential oils. They're the reason behind your eye stinging when shampoo runs down the side of your face.
