 I recall those appointments
 Feelings of depression
 Another pill to swallow
 Another ovulation test
And now I look at my 3 children and thank the Almighty - for His timing is perfect .
Today ’ s article is for the women who are holding it down , whose pillows are stained with tears from infertility . Who feel completely hopeless at the thought of being a mum !
I know that journey all too well .
We tried for a year and it is ultimately in the Almighty ’ s hand . Trying for a baby is a difficult and emotional journey but there is light at the end of the tunnel ! A hospital light after the arrival of a baby .
This article isn ’ t written by a doctor but these are the things that we did when we were trying !
It is important and helpful when your spouse is supportive . We both decided to do a lifestyle change whereby we completely revolutionized the food we ate . In order to fall pregnant a lady ’ s body needs to be healthy and in balance . That is the only time a lady ’ s system will allow a lady to conceive . Obviously there are exceptions to this rule but by rule of thumb a healthy body provides a landscape for conception
Out went the oil , prawns , mushrooms , junk food and we invited salads with every meal , especially green leafy veggies . We found that when fused with various types of seeds ( chia , sunflower etc ) chicken fillet , salmon , and a variety of seasonal fruit , we could experiment with different flavours thus creating something new daily .
Olive oil was the order of the day and coconut oil can also be used with cooking . Who would have thought that poached eggs could be so yummy . We completely cut out all refined sugar , brown sugar , brown bread and healthy seeded bread became a resident .
I was sad to see carbs leave but we didn ’ t cut that out completely . - we substituted with sweet potatoes and instead of frying we baked potatoes . Butter , salt , pepper some cream cheese and you will never miss chips .
My husband is not a dessert fan but a huge cake and biscuit lover ! Three times a week of baked goodies was cut to once a week ! For me dessert was the hardest to say farewell to . What is winter without strawberries and cream right ?! We introduced more avocados and made dessert with that .

Once your partner supports you and understands how vital it is to eat healthy the game becomes so much easier

The last specialist appointment was a bleak one . We were told that normal conception was impossible for us and we would need to consider alternative methods - leaning toward IVF .
