& God said “Love Your Enemy” and I
obeyed him & Loved myself. Khalil
Gibran. Search for Self Love By: Zahra Said
As I begin this piece, I can’t help but realise my
personal battle of procrastination. As I reflect on the
time I was given to research and write, there lies the
blatant fact that I have waited until the very last minute.
Is this the pace at which my new year is going to
unravel? Well I certainly hope not, especially since I
have made a very strong intention for 2016, which is to
learn and adapt discipline into my daily life.
It has taken me some time (a few years to be precise)
since I have begun my journey of self-discovery, to be
able to identify where I fall short. Hence my opening
statement with regards to procrastination. Although
being able to only identify this ‘poor characteristic’
which is ultimately detrimental to my vision, isn’t
helping my cause. Hmmm, a cause you ask? What is it
she speaks of? I am happy to share that I am on a
journey of self love. The benefit of this journey is that I
get to create the very best version of myself and I am
sincerely enjoying every step of the way.
