Fitness What to do if you are trapped in a “sitting” lifestyle • Sit up straight, with neutral pelvis position. • Keep your shoulders back and in the position mentioned above. • Don’t crane your neck forward. • Have your keyboard close to you and your elbows and arms at your side, at a 90 degree angle. • Keep screen eye level. • While maintaining a stable core you can alternate in bringing each foot up to the opposite knee to stretch out your hip flexors. • Stand up and move as often as possible. At least every ½ hour Who would have thought that sitting could have such a massive negative impact on our health? Now that you are equipped with the knowledge, do something about it, choose to move. If all else fails, put sticky notes up at your desk and at home and everywhere else you find yourself sitting all day. Write the letters GOYA on it. This will remind you to Get Off Your Ass! It literally can lengthen, if not save your life.
