Please share something of your background and how it relates to your current interest in fitness and modeling. I’m a mother of three. I’ve always been active in sports throughout school and then with the kids. Training is my “escape”.

Share with us a bit about your contest history and most memorable show experience.

First show was the CJ Classic in 2012. I then won overall at the Southeastern. I earned my pro card in 2013 at Chicago. I’ve done several pro shows in 2014 placing 6th to 13th. Every show is a learning curve. Each show I learn something new. The best part is getting to meet and become friends with all these other amazing women and athletes.

What motivates and/or inspires you to workout, diet and compete in fitness?

My kids are my motivation. They are very active. I want to be a positive role model for them and show them how to set and attain goals, work ethic and eating healthy. Just want them to get a good foundation for life.

What is the most difficult hurdle you see as having to overcome?

The hardest part of competing is time management. Our lifestyle is very fast paced. Scheduling in all the food and focusing during workouts are probably the things I struggle with the most. 90% of my daily meals are eaten while on the go.

What is your favorite part of photo shoots and modeling?

My favorite part of competing/modeling is feeling like you are almost a different person. It becomes your time to enjoy all the hard work and time you’ve invested in yourself. Photos and video are an integral part of checking progress. I used to hate taking pics and even worse was being forced to look through them. That was until I realized what useful tools they actually are (cont. on pg. 6).
