Please share a bit of your

background and how it’s let up to

where you are in the fitness

industry today.

I grew up in a very active and fit

family! We were all involved in all

sorts of sports. My mother in

particular is the one who inspired

me to take the fitness route. She

started in 1997 when she entered

in the ESPN Miss America Fitness

Pageant. From there she competed

in the Iron Woman Tri-Fitness

Championships, the Fitness and

Figure divisions.

In high school I decided to dabble

in it myself. I competed in a few

local shows entering in the teen

figure division. It was then that I

realized I had a strong passion for

health and fitness. I became a

certified personal trainer at age

16. After that I started personal

training at local gyms and I taught

several different boot camps for

adults and children. I graduated

from Florida Atlantic University

with my degree in Exercise Science

and Health Promotion in 2013.

I am currently the Coordinator of

Healthy Living for the Peter Blum

YMCA and do private personal and

online training on the side.

Where do you typically workout, a

certain gym, any outdoor training?

I am always switching it up. I have

multiple gym memberships that I

hop around to. The constant

change in scenery keeps it

interesting and prevents me from

getting too comfortable. Sundays

are my fun-days!

I do something-active outdoors

every Sunday. Cycling around town

has been my activity of choice

lately. I am constantly distracted

by how beautiful it is here in

South Florida I don’t even realize

I’m burning calories (cont. pg. 14).
