Advanced Placement AP course expectations for success: ● Students MAP data in Spring of 9th grade meets or exceeds RIT level for Reading (234) or Math (250) ● ACT Data (see chart below) ● State Assessment meets or exceeds a score of Advance ● Course pathways criteria is met with successful completion ● Teacher Recommendation ● Students score 85% or higher on academic readiness AP course assessment ● Course/student expectation agreement letter signed by student and parent ● Note: All students are encouraged to take the AP exam when enrolled in course ACT Data: Profile of a successful AP student: ● ● ● ● Successfully completes prerequisite coursework Demonstrates excellent study skills and habits Time management is effective Views learning as a challenge and seeks to persevere when challenged AP Summer Course Work: ● Students will receive summer work at the end of the school year prior to fall course enrollment ● Teachers will set up checkpoints (example: meet prior to summer, mid July, mid August) for student progress ● Students will take an academic readiness assessment within the first two days of class (students need to score 85% or higher on the exam to be successful in AP course) 17 Table of Contents
