What services does NTA offer? The association has a wide range of services available to help tour operators, DMOs and supplier members engage with the China market. Leading the way is Haybina Hao, vice president of international development, who coordinates all aspects of NTA’s China programming, including: Fam tours and special events Seminars on getting China-ready Hao shares her expertise on the China market at various industry events. She has been a featured speaker at local DMO and supplier gatherings in California, Guam, Massachusetts, Montana, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Virginia Beach. She also provides similar presentations to suppliers such as Best Western International and luxury brands and shopping stores in Madison Avenue of New York City. She has been a featured presenter at industry conferences such as Go West Summit and Active America–China. The vast canyons and legendary arches of Utah’s five national parks were the focus of a Fam trip earlier this year. NTA’s China expert, Haybina Hao, is a featured speaker at many industry events. Seminars at NTA events The association regularly offers educational sessions at Travel Exchange and Contact that cover a variety of China topics, ranging from how-tos and panel discussions to market updates and details on emerging trends. Trade show promotion NTA represents members at many leading trade shows in China, including the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market and the China International Travel Mart. One-stop translation services NTA regularly handles translation projects for industry partners’ trade show collateral, sales materials, marketing brochures, web sites and advertisements. The translation service package includes printing and distribution at the travel trade shows in China.. Business connections Thanks to years of working with the China market, NTA can help connect its members with high-level executives at Chinese travel businesses that they’d never be able to meet on their own. Social media/WeChat NTA facilitates multiple groups on WeChat that help hundreds of international travel professionals stay in touch and share information on topics related to the China market. The Best of the USA Guide This NTA publication helps familiarize Chinese travel agencies with the wide array of experiences that are available at destinations in every region of the U.S. The annual magazine includes a list of receptive tour operators that are registered with NTA’s China Inbound Program. Expert says demand for U.S. is strong for Chinese travelers Dr. Robert Li of Temple University is a noted researcher who has done extensive surveying of Chinese travelers. Li has been a featured presenter at Travel Exchange, and he talks briefly about his most recent research. “The China U.S.-Travel Monitor Program 2014­–15 report represents the culmination of a 15-month, two-phase study designed to better understand China’s U.S.-bound travel market,” says Li. “The general-public survey reveals the demand for U.S. travel products remains high, and the U.S. is clearly in a strong position in the Chinese market.” To learn more about his research and the Monitor Program, email Dr. Li at [email protected].
