The government doesn’t hand over that kind of detailed geographic information so the moms figured out how to network. “When we would learn of a soldier deployed, we felt sad that they had not been included on the initial love packages so we made an extra effort for them,” said Wakham. As if the Moms on a Mission group wasn’t afraid enough for the soldiers in harm’s way, Sept. 11, 2001 brought about an almost paralyzing fear. The moms intensified their activities to help make up for that heightened sense of anxiety. One of th
