n Second( Run-Off) Primary
“ If in any particular race in the first primary no candidate seeking the party’ s nomination receives a majority of the votes cast, a second primary( or run-off) must be held between the two candidates with the largest number of votes in the first primary. § 17-13-18( b). The second or run-off primary elections will be held on the sixth Tuesday following the primary election. §§ 17-13-3 and 17-13-18.” n
BALLOT ACCESS
• Minor party and independent candidates must file the appropriate documents with the Alabama Secretary of State on or before the primary day( June 5, 2018) to be listed on the general election ballot.
• Alabama has no filing requirements for write-in candidates.
