TOM HANKS IS COUNTRY A-GO-GO
If you ’ re looking for a radio station playing older more obscure country from the 1950s , 60s , and 70s , and not always the most obvious recordings of some well-known country songs then check out Country A-Go-Go via TuneIn and thank the actor and producer Tom Hanks . Launched to coincide with the 100th birthday of Hank Williams , Hanks , and radio veteran Debbie Daughtry raided their own personal vinyl collections and digitised 3,500 records to curate the station . The result is a terrific mix of vintage country , country boogie , honky tonk , country-soul and more from artists such as Ray Price , Bonnie Owens , Speedy West , Bobbie
Gentry , Stoney Edwards , O . C . Smith and more interspersed with vintage ads , and even better , it ’ s all commercial free .
In a statement Daughtry , who previously started the rock ’ n ’ soul Boss Radio 66 said in a statement , “ Country A-Go-Go reconnects listeners with country music ’ s origins to hear the legends that gave country its soul . This station is for any country music fan that wants to hear great music from a very influential time in history . This is the music that I grew up with and still influences the music that I love to this day .”
