No . 1 hits of any artist in any genre and the most No . 1 albums , gold albums , and platinum albums in country music , George Strait now holds the record for the largest ticketed concert in US history thanks to his June 15 gig at the Kyle Field , College Station , Texas home of Texas A & M University ’ s football team in front of 110,905 people .
The number eclipsed a 1977 Grateful Dead concert at Raceway Park in New Jersey in front of 107,019 . While some festivals and multi-day events can attract larger numbers , Strait ’ s record is for a single concert .
