HOMELESS ACMs
Amid reports that the ACM Awards telecast has lost half its ratings since 2018 , CBS , who have aired the show since 1998 , have declined to renew the deal . Dick Clark Productions , who produce the awards show that was this year hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton , are reportedly trying to find a new home and may revise the $ 22 million figure they asked for . That was a rise of $ 2 million despite the falling ratings .
In other ACM news , The Academy of Country Music has named the recipients of non-competitive honours that will be given out at Nashville ’ s Ryman Auditorium in August at the non-televised 14th annual “ ACM Honors ” ceremony . Slated to receive the ACM Poet ’ s Award , which honours songwriters , are Loretta Lynn , Gretchen Peters , and Curly Putnam ( cowriter of He Stopped Loving Her Today and Green Green Grass Of Home ). Ken Burns will receive the Tex Ritter Film Award for his “ Country Music ” series as well as current stars Luke Combs ( ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award ) and Dan + Shay ( ACM Jim Reeves International Award ). Rascal Flatts and music exec and label head Joe Galante are honoured with the equivalent of a lifetime achievement in the shape of an ACM Cliffie Stone Icon Award and Toby Keith is recognised with the ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award , presented to someone designated as following in the footsteps of Haggard as a performing storyteller .
