First Graders Learn About Spiders

Spiders and nocturnal animals are taking over the month for the 1st graders. They have learned about many species of spiders, and what nocturnal animals are. Some animals they learned about are: Badgers, Bats, Cats, and Skunks. Nocturnal animals are mainly small animals that are active during the night.
"NAME THAT VERB"

A new game was presented to the 3rd graders this month, called "Name That Verb." In the game, a team has to perform an action verb and the rest of the class has to guess what verb they are. The class is enjoying Mrs. Kellen reading one of the Harry Potter books to the class. The 3rd graders are also keeping up on the SumDog contest!

5th graders are preparing for their book reports! They have to present to the class about thier book, and prepare a visual aid.
Frogs, Toads and Puppets!

The second graders are busy now creating their Frog and Toad puppet theater shows. They are busy creating their props to use when they perform their plays for other classrooms and parents. They have read several different stories and each group and have chosen their favorite story to perform.
They are also continuing to watch their plants grow.
fourth graders, their land is your land

Literary Lightning Bolts (a traveling 4th grade group) presented acrostic poems, showed off some string art talent, and sang "This Land is Your Land" to their audience at the Burke Public Library. Jody Young, their classroom volunteer, was the guest reader who read the book A Halloween Scare in South Dakota to all in attendance.
