DID YOU KNOW THAT COTTOVER TOO IS CERTIFIED ACCORDING TO THE NORDIC SWAN ECOLABEL ?

This is a fact that we are very proud of , obviously . The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is , just like Fairtrade and GOTS , an independent third-party certification protecting both humans and the environment . On the cotton plantations , Svanen makes demands on everything from pesticides and working conditions to transport and selection of chemicals .
The Swan is an eco-label with requirements developed from a life cycle perspective : from raw material to production and use . As the production of cotton , among other things , takes place in countries far away from us , there are requirements for good social conditions for the factory workers . Cottover wants to be part of a good consumption , and when you choose to buy Nordic Swan Eco-labelled products - such as Cottover - you can feel confident that your ’ re making a good choice . Which is important for you , as well as for us and for the rest of the world .
Concrete environmental benefits
The Nordic Swan Ecolabel was created thirty years ago . At the time , it was primarily to protect consumers from misleading symbols and expressions . Since then , the Swan has been working to help industries and companies switch to more sustainable production , thereby contributing to more sustainable development . This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions , protecting our eco-systems from dangerous chemicals and reducing our consumption and use of resources . Chemicals evolve very quickly - when dangerous chemicals are banned , they are quickly replaced by new ones . For your peace of mind , each Swan license is time-limited , and regular on-site inspections are carried out . In other words , eco-labelling is a work in progress - for the sake of humans and the environment .

Sustainable lifestyle
That it is a challenge for everyone to make the transition to a sustainable lifestyle by changing the way they live and consume , is a presumption we think you would agree with . And we can probably agree on the fact that it ’ s a jungle of different labels to keep track of . Unfortunately , there are a number of less reputable players in the market , so it ’ s important for you as a consumer to know which certifications and labels you can trust . The Swan is one of them you can trust and wants to make it easier for you to actually consume in a sustainable way .
Only the best is good enough
The textile industry is often criticised from an sustainability point of view , but it isn ’ t hopeless . If , like us , you want to take responsibility , make a positive impact and bring about real change , there is a strength in working with well-established third-party certifications . So that ’ s what we do . For us , only the best is good enough , which is why we have chosen to certify most of Cottover * to both Fairtrade , GOTS and The Nordic Swan Ecolabel . For your , and everyone else ’ s , sake .

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel was founded in 1989 , when the Nordic Council of Ministers launched the Swan-label to help consumers make choices that benefit the environment . It started with paper and batteries , and today you can find the Swan-label on more than 10 000 goods and services . After a few years the Swan was joined by the EU Flower ; the EU eco-label . The state-owned company Miljömärkning Sweden is responsible for both the Swan and the EU Flower , and works on a non-profit basis on behalf of the government .
