Summer intern, Dalton Dicks, organized a STEM Day Camp for 15 youth. Presenters shared how they use drones in their work at CropQuest and youth had an opportunity to fly small drones. Youth also built rockets during a guided session with the 4-H project leader and investigated coding through fun activities! Several Junior Leaders and Ellis County 4-H Program Assistant, Tamara Robertson, were great help! Thanks to a 2019 grant from the Golden Belt Community Foundation, youth were able to take part in this fun-filled day of learning at no cost.

Barton 4-H agent, Michelle Beran, has held a series of "Saturday Sessions" this past year for families to learn about a variety of projects and events in 4-H. The August session was all about record books and was well-received by a good group of parents and 4-H youth who are looking at wrapping up the 4-H year in September. Record books are an important life skill as it guides youth through setting project goals, tracking their educational and presentation opportunities, and wrapping up the learning for the year.
