October 2021
Greetings from the Director:
Fall is in the air!
I know I am ready for a change of season, with cooler mornings and colorful trees. I just hope Fall weather can hang around for awhile before the snow blows!
Cottonwood Extension is ready to bring you some fall programming that may be of interest to you. I hope you will find something that you would like to learn that we can help you with.
This fall, we have four open positions on our Cottonwood Extension Executive
Board. Four candidates have filed in Ellis County including: Hannah Enslow, Kathleen Huser, Donna J Maskus, and Kelsey Stremel. Three candidates have filed in Barton County including: Rita Stolz, Alexa Straub, and Lori Waters. The two candidates receiving the most votes in each county will join the Executive board for a four-year term. Election day is Tuesday, November 2nd, so mark it on your calendar and make your vote count.
The other big news this fall is that our Great Bend office is moving to a new location. After 26 plus years in our current location we will be moving to 3007 10th Street, in Great Bend. The building was originally built by the gas company, and now houses the Barton County Food Bank, and other offices. We will be in the west wing of the building, and we will have ample parking in front of our office. I am excited that the agent offices will each have a window! We will also have a nice sized meeting room. Our official moving time is just after the Thanksgiving Holiday, so bear with us as we start packing boxes and wondering “which box that important paper is in”.
