Focus on the "Stars': Cooking Healthy for the Holidays

Dementia Behaviors

The words “holiday” and “healthy” usually aren’t found together, especially when it comes to food. Indulgent treats and drinks are a tradition for the holiday season, and they should be enjoyed! People are brought together around meals to celebrate, create lasting memories, and connect with others. However, the holiday season can be a difficult time to maintain good health, and many find weight management a challenge due to extra goodies throughout the season. This is why it’s important to learn how to make a health plan during the winter months.

On November 15th, Karissa will be presenting a Stop ‘N Learn event at the Great Bend Activity Center to highlight ways to maintain healthy eating habits and activity throughout the holidays. Key topics will include ingredient substitutions, indoor physical activity, and leftovers. Finally, you will get to sample a healthier take on a holiday treat!
