In Kansas, the agricultural sector is a major economic driver, with over 100,000 farmers and ranchers operating on 55,734 farms. These farms generate over $23.9 billion annually and encompass over 44.7 million acres, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture.

In 2023 Ellis County farmers harvested 59,300 acres of wheat, and 66,100 ac. grain sorghum. A total of 31,500 cattle & calves, with 14,500 cows.

In 2023 Barton County farmers harvested 57,700 ac. wheat, 83,900 ac. of grain sorghum, 31,400 ac. of corn and 24,900 ac. of soybeans. A total of 110,000 cattle & calves, with 13,800 cows.
