GBReads – In January, 4-H Youth Development agent, Michelle Beran, had the opportunity to participate with USD 428’s Great Bend Reads program. Each grade school student across the district receives a copy of the selected book and school librarians coordinate related activities to encourage reading, especially family reading. “The Wild Robot” by Peter Brown was the selection for 2024 and provided a discussion about kindness, communication, and being a good friend by Michelle to nearly 1400 grade school students! It is always fun to see familiar 4-H faces in the crowd and each student received a 4-H themed bookmark with information about how they can join 4-H!
4-H members in Cottonwood – Barton participated in 4-H Club Day on Sunday, Feb. 4, at Ellinwood High School. A great set of judges evaluated and provided feedback to nearly 50 entries. Congratulations to all participants! 4-H Ambassadors checked for Smarties during the day by asking youth a question and then presented a packet of Smarties candy to each.
