In order to assist new 4-H families or those new to several project areas, Michelle Beran has held a series of "Saturday Sessions" over the last 6 months. Extension agents, Barton Community College instructors, and the Barton County Fair Association have provided great learning opportunities for 4-H families with Beef/Swine in November, Goats/Sheep in March, and Rabbits/Poultry in April, and "All Things Fair" in May . Other sessions included record books and Club Day preparation.
Fair season is upon us! Extension agents are working to share communication with 4-H families, work with fair boards on schedules and superintendents, and schedule judges and volunteers. If you would like to write comments for a judge, hang art work or photos, or assist in any way during the fair, please let the Extension Office know! The fair is one of several showcase events for 4-H project learning and a great community event!
