I am currently a student at Fort Hays State University pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business with a minor in Animal Science. My passion for agriculture, livestock, and rural communities has motivated me to continue learning and growing within the industry.
I am excited to serve as a summer intern with K-State Research and Extension and look forward to gaining hands-on experience while working with local producers, youth, and community members. I am grateful for this opportunity and eager to contribute, learn, and build meaningful connections throughout the summer.
Hello, I am Karlyn Woelk. I am from a small town in western Kansas and have been involved in agriculture for as long as I can remember. Throughout my years in 4-H, I exhibited cattle and sheep, which helped me develop valuable skills in responsibility, leadership, and teamwork. I was also actively involved in FFA during high school, where I gained additional experience and knowledge within the agriculture industry.
Welcome Summer Interns!
Sydney Mattison is the part-time summer office intern in the Cottonwood-Barton County Office. She is currently continuing her education while pursuing a career in marketing and communications. Sydney enjoys creating engaging content, supporting community events, and helping organizations connect with the people they serve.
Throughout her previous internship experiences, she has developed skills in marketing, graphic design, event promotion, and community outreach. This summer, she looks forward to learning more about K-State Research and Extension while assisting with the Barton County Fair, 4-H programming, and other educational and community initiatives across the District.
