Cottonwood Connections January 2022

Congratulations to two Cottonwood 4-H Youth who will be traveling internationally through the IFYE Program! The Outbound Exchange Interview Committee approved participation of six current 4-H members in Outbound Exchanges next summer. These youth will stay with a host family and will begin fundraising very soon for this incredible opportunity. If you have interest in supporting one or both of these 4-H members, please contact the Extension Office.

The prospective Kansas State 4-H delegates, their Extension Units, and first choices for assignments are as follows:

Jayla Wyant, Cottonwood District to Costa Rica

Cottonwood Youth to travel to Japan and Costa Rica

The KSU Animal Sciences Youth Livestock Program have announced their Junior Producer Days. Junior Beef Producer Day will be held on March 5 and Junior Sheep Producer Day will be held on March 19, both at campus at K-State. More information and registration for both can be found at

Citizenship in Action (CIA)

Would you like to have more influence in laws and rules that affect your life? Then you’ll want to go to Kansas 4-H Citizenship in Action! This two-day event is sponsored by the State 4-H Youth Leadership Council. The purpose of the event is for Kansas youth to learn how the state legislative process works and how their voice and participation in decision-making can make a difference in their local communities. The legislative visit will not only familiarize youth with the capitol building, but will also show them how they can affect the legislative process.

Who: Youth 13-18 years old by January 1 of the current year
