It’s a new year, so why not sign up for a popular strength training class offered in the Cottonwood District? The Stay Strong Stay Healthy workshop focuses on strength, flexibility and balance and targets folks 60 and above. The Great Bend workshop will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning February 15th and ending April 7th. Registration is $20, and class size is limited. A pre-assessment is completed before the first class so call Donna by January 31st to sign up.

If you have ever wanted to try your hand at making sauerkraut, consider signing up for a workshop set for Tuesday, February 8th, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. The workshop will be held in the kitchen at Grace Community Church, 201 South McKinley, Great Bend. For a $25 registration fee, each participant will receive a wide mouth canning jar, special one-way valve, glass weight and the ingredients to make 1 quart of sauerkraut. During the workshop you will learn about other fermented foods and gain an understanding about the health benefits of adding fermented food to your healthy diet plan. Class size is limited so call the Great Bend office at (620)793-1910 to reserve a spot in the class. There are plans to hold a sauerkraut workshop in Hays in March. Watch for details in our February newsletter.
