GLOBAL
PROJECTS
Whilst we’ve been working with communities in Southern
Uganda for several years, our work in other parts of the world
is still in its early stages.
During the first few years of our work in a new region, we
constantly monitor and review projects to ensure the most
effective and sustainable change to the community. In doing
so, we prefer to focus on the cause and relationships being
forged, rather than targets and projections.
SOUTH AFRICA
Last year, we partnered with the Nelson Mandela Foundation
in South Africa to implement critical programs in line with
our four pillars of education, health, infrastructure and
sustainability.
Mandela Library Program
In line with our strong belief in education, we donated libraries
made from shipping containers to five schools in need in
South Africa.
Mandela Day Food Security Program
The food parcel project focused on those students and
families from selected rural schools, and helped deliver
parcels to 240 students during the school holidays to ensure
they remain healthy and able to concentrate all year round.
Caring For Girls Program
Caring4Girls is a sanitary towels and menstrual hygiene
program for underprivileged girls, mainly in rural communities.
The project aims to provide puberty and menstrual hygiene
training to underprivileged girls, support them with sanitary
towels for a minimum of one year, and provide each girl with
a menstrual hygiene booklet.
School Enhancement and Assembly Shelter
Our dedication to quality learning environments doesn’t
mean we only build classroom blocks. Last year, we responded
to a need in a local school in Cape Town, and built a shelter
area for school assembly and shaded outdoor activities for
students.
Fodisong Community and Health Centre
Fodisong which means ‘Place of Healing’ provides
primary health care to an underprivileged community in
Johannesburg. In 2015 we began supporting Fodisong, to
help them reach those most in need in the community.
The Desmond Tutu Tutudesk Campaign
Over 95 million children in schools across sub-Saharan Africa
have no access to a classroom desk. In order to help create
better learning environments for children, we forged a new
partnership with Desmond Tutu in 2015.
