UGANDAN
INFRASTRUCTURE
INFRASTRUCTURE IS LITERALLY THE FOUNDATIONS FOR CREATING CHANGE.
Infrastructure is an important part of development for all
other pillars. The construction of buildings, dams, and other
structures is imperative to rolling out effective educational,
health and sustainability programs. It enables our education
teams to build schools, our health team to construct health
centres, and the sustainability team to implement life-saving
water projects.
In terms of our Infrastructure pillar, 2015 has been our most
diverse year yet!
Working to enable the goals within the Education, Health and
Sustainability pillars, we have completed several new projects
in 2015 including:
- A new HIV centre in Mannya village;
GOALS
1. Develop and maintain a sustainable central and
outreach plan.
2. Capacity building for the community, and the Ugandan
project and construction management team.
- New classrooms, kitchens and toilet blocks in schools;
- Staff accommodation for teachers in rural areas; and
- Boreholes on school grounds to ensure students have
access to safe drinking water at school.
3. Develop a cost effective construction and building
maintenance program.
