Wow , what a ride these last 3 years have been since accepting the President and CEO position with the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Women in Business organizations , and I am loving every minute of it !
2023 is our 55th anniversary year for the Chamber , founded in 1968 by Gary Spooner ( aka Santa Gary ). We look forward to honoring Gary along with all our Past Chairs at our Evening of Excellence Awards Gala on November 2 , 2023 , hosted at the Historic Furber Farm .
Our Community Showcase ( featuring local businesses and entertainment ) will be held at the Park Activity Center on Saturday , April 29th , 2023 , and our Swing for Scholarship Golf Tournament where we raise money for scholarships for our local High School Senior ’ s living in the Cottage Grove , Newport and St . Paul Park areas will be held at River Oaks Golf and Event Center on Monday , June 26th , 2023 .
Our 2021 / 2022 Board of Directors created our updated 501 ( c ) 6 Chamber Mission : To lead , communicate , and share resources with our members to develop , grow and support our local business network and community .
Along with our upcoming 501 ( c ) 3 Foundation Mission : To create opportunities and solve problems by facilitating business and community development within the region .
I ’ m honored to serve such an amazing nonprofit organization ( solely run by memberships dues , sponsorships , and events ) and look forward to the tremendous growth , member engagement and community involvement that 2023 will bring .
